Want to know what is the first impression your website makes to a guest? Have somebody test it out for you – for free!

To make my website functionally and visually better, I’m testing out a bunch of tools, and among those I find this tool Peek from peek.usertesting.com extremely interesting and useful. (I don’t know these people working at this company. Nor I get anything from them. I Just really enjoy their brilliant idea and want to share my experience with it.)
Basically you type the url of your website and shortly receive a screen record, with real-time voice, of a random internet user reviewing your site!
Since the testing is randomly assigned to testers, you don’t get to choose the right types of viewers you want. And sometimes you may just get not-a-really-good tests. Still the review videos can give you an insight on how your clients experience your website.
In my case I got a very good test. The result reminds me a simple fact: think from the viewpoint of your customers and design your pages accordingly. Don’t say or show what you want them to know, but what they themselves want to know. Follow your viewers’ browsing path, optimize meticulously the most important sections of a page, like the first slide/ media they see, the first texts, where they pause to read, where they click, etc. There is no shortcut. Keep testing and optimizing and you’ll see how better the new variation can perform.
With a free account you can have up to 3 5-minutes review videos sent to your email inbox. There is also Pro version for those who are seriously about website re-design with more options and features.
