All of us are using social media on a regular basis. But do you know the lifespan of your posts on social media?
Understanding how long your social media content last helps you decide how often you should post on each platform.
⚡ Information on Twitter moves the fastest of all the social networks. The lifespan of a tweet is extremely short, just around 18 minutes. That’s why you’ll see some people can’t stop twitting about everything all day long.
⚡ Content on Facebook has the 2nd shortest lifespan. It’ll only last for about 5 hours. It means you can post 2-3 times per day to your Facebook page without driving people away for overposting.
⚡ Next is Instagram with the lifespan of 21 hours. High-performing posts that receive many comments within the few hours has a very long lifespan on Instagram.
⚡ Then comes LinkedIn content that lasts about 24 hours. That’s why I try to create and share content daily on my LinkedIn.
⚡ Finally, social media can get serious with some long-tail content. A YouTube video has a solid lifespan of 20 days. The most surprising platform is Pinterest which has post lifespan of 4 months!
